Re: Is there a way to exclude certain file types?

Proposal: add a new subsection to "Settings > Media Library" where the user can decide for each supported file type whether to include it in the scanning.

No. Afaik there is no option to exclude certain file types from scanning.

Re: Are more features gonna be added to the Neutron player soon?

Yes, the UI might be developed further, and surely further features could be added.
But it would seem the developers have set their focus on more technical issues.
Nevertheless, feel free to propose changes in the Development forum.

Re: WebDav scanning

You can deactivate the scanning for a source by deactivating its "Refresh" checkbox :

Re: User interface rant - usability.

As far as we know most people succeed where you failed.
The Neutron App generally works well.
If you could be a bit more specific ?

I'd start by comparing the configuration of the source entries.

What is the output impedance of the device?
Seems to work with all normal headphones :

32 Ohm ->1.257 / 1.262 Vrms -> 48 mW
600 Ohm -> 2.03 Vrms -> 7 mW
100 kOhm -> 2.033 Vrms -> 0.04 mW

Re: Question on Spectogram

For instance I'd rather see the spectogram of the raw music rather than a spectrogram of music + EQ effect. Neutron doesn't so that. Feel free to propose to change that here in the Development forum. So to be sure, do your EQ settings change the dancing bar behaviour in the spectogram? Yes, they do...

Re: Welcome our Neutron HiFi™ DAC V1 device!

Okay, so who should buy this ? Everybody of course :D but apart from that
- people who like to get the best possible DAC, even without regarding the built-in DSP ?
- people who would like to use a good DSP but for some reason don't use the Neutron app ?

Re: Question on Spectogram

Yes, the second option does not more than just switch the upper limit of the x-axis. The reason it was introduced is purely one of convenience: most people won't want to check for any signal in the range between input sampling rate and output sampling rate ... because there isn't anything, unless so...
