Where are the backups of my settings?
I have a new cell phone and would like to save all my settings so that I can restore them on my new cell phone. But I can't find the place where they are saved.
There are Amsroid folders on both the internal memory and the SD card. The "Data" subfolder on the internal memory is empty. My SD card also contains an Android folder. There are folders of all apps in "Data", but their folders are all empty.
Is it possible to set the storage location for a backup in NMP?

Re: Where are the backups of my settings?
There's no supported backup and restore mechanism for the settings. There's a folder where Neutron stores its internal data, in Android 10 that is /NeutronMP :
In newer versions of Android things get complicated, because the user doesn't have access to the app's data.

Thank you.
To write in German: Ich bin so doof. Darauf bin ich wirklich nicht gekommen...
My phone is running with android 12, but fortunately this folder is there.
So if I take this whole folder and replace it in the new cell phone, everything will be fine?

I'm not sure about the whole folder - some internal data might have to be different due to the different device, os-version, name of storage devices etc. Might work for the xml-files with themes, eq, frc . But then, there's nothing to lose in the beginning, you won*t destroy the hardware, so feel free to try it out .CarlFredricksen wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 7:22 amSo if I take this whole folder and replace it in the new cell phone, everything will be fine?

Ok, I'll first try the settings and EQ. That should be enough.

Make sure that both the app and its service are closed when replace the xml, otherwise the new xml won't be read and overwritten when the app and/or service end.CarlFredricksen wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 8:12 amOk, I'll first try the settings and EQ. That should be enough.

What do you mean with "service"? How can I close this?
Re: Where are the backups of my settings?
The actual playing is not done by the GUI - you can close the GUI and Neutron keeps playing. Whatever it is that does the playing I call "service". On my S9 I can shut that down by closing the notification that is active while playing.CarlFredricksen wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 9:32 amWhat do you mean with "service"? How can I close this?

Re: Where are the backups of my settings?
Now I have to ask again: In my phone with Android 12, I was able to find the Neutron folder directly in the root directory. However, this folder does not appear in my new phone with Android 14. And as I suspected, you have little or no access to the corresponding subfolders in the Android folder.
Fortunately, all my NMP settings were transferred with the move.
Strangely enough, my playlists were not. How can I import these into the NMP app under Android 14?
