Streaming music over 4G/LTE, possible?

Post by c0d3r » Sat May 11, 2013 12:30 am

HI,

I was able to stream music on my NAS over Wifi without any issue by using SMB/CIFS from NMP, but wasn't able to do that over 4G/LTE? port forwarding were alll setup properly. I'm using Samsung Note 2, Is it a Neutron Music Player issue that doesn't support streaming music over 4G/LTE?

EDIT: It seems that Neutron Music Player doesn't support address like: myDNSname.no-ip.org:9999, the reason why we need an additional port parameter is that here in North America, some of the wireless carriers are blocking standard SMB/CIFS ports (e.g. 445) over mobile data. The work around is: we have to assign an external port (e.g. 9999) to internal 445 port (My Synology NAS SMB/CIFS port).

It looked to me that NMP doesn't support the form of IP Address like: 92.99.112.45:9999, if I redirect port 9999 (external port) to internal 445 port.

Please fix it.

Thanks,

William

Good news! I was told by Dmitry that the problem will be solved in the next release.

Hi! Yes, since next update address notation as IP:PORT will be supported (already done).
