I would like to inform that the bug with long filenames is finally caught and fixed! Actually the implementation in Neutron was correct but some SMB/CIFS servers are reporting incorrect filename length (shorter). Thus truncation occurred and further reading of the network packet containing other entries was impossible. In next update on all platforms it will be fixed. Most probably it will resolve the majority of issues when Neutron fails to scan SMB/CIFS source.

Good news! Looking forward to the update.

Neutron will also recognize long shares (>13 characters) since next update. For example BB10 device external SD can be a source for music from another device running Neutron because its share name is: /sdcard_EXTERNAL

Re: SMB Scan Aborts after about 85% through
Thanks for the update.
Well, there is progress. It starts to scan now and doesn't force close. However, it gets to 99 and stops. I left it for a while, but it does not progress any further.
Maybe the next update will get it to work!
Edit: I just fired up Neutron and it's still scanning! It had passed the 8000 mark. I'll be impressed if it gets to the end. I'm guessing it will take a while. Good work!

In Android 1.76.0 all must be fine now.
In BlackBerry 1.76.0 release (1.76.0.1 for PlayBook, 1.76.0.2 for BB10) there is still another bug which is fixed and update is pending BB World review (will be 1.76.0.3 for PlayBooks, 1.76.0.4 for BB10).

BB World approved 1.76.0.3, 1.76.0.4 so currently BlackBerry has SMB/CIFS bug-less version active.
Re: SMB Scan Aborts after about 85% through
Scanning a SMB source I always get stuck on the 8000 items mark. It seems a neutron limit. Is that true? Can be increase it?
Re: SMB Scan Aborts after about 85% through
There is no limit but in the current version there is crash bug when there is folder with many files (>100). This is fixed and in the next version will not be a problem anymore. Most probably the problem you faced is due to this bug.
Re: SMB Scan Aborts after about 85% through
OK. let's hope that this was the problem. I am thinking in a folder that could have more tan 100 files and I think is near the 8000th file. I will check it.
