Hello,
I'm encountering several issues with my current setup. Firstly, the generic driver doesn't have the options such as "Hi-Res Codec" and "Hi-Res Speakers." Secondly, when playing 16-bit tracks, the output device shows 32 (out: 24 int), suggesting all tracks are output as 24-bit. Thirdly, clicking on the channel field doesn't display any information.

Output isn't input. the player decodes the input, whatever bit-depth that has, and works internally with 32 or 64 bit, depending on the settings. It checks what the device output can handle and sets its bit-depth for the output accordingly.
As to the missing high-res- and channel-options: could you provide screenshots and tell us what device, os etc you're using ?

I got the original Fiio CL06 cable, which only translates from USB-C to Micro-USB. The power supply from the cell phone also works with this. But it cracks just the same ...
By the way: It was not possible to get my old Huawei Ascend Mate 7 work with these Fiio-Devices. I ordered an new Android 14 Smartphone (where these elder Fiios had other problems with OTG) and an iFi DAC 3 and everything is working like a charme...

I have the same problem with an unrooted Samsung ZFold 6 (SM-F956U1) running Android 14 and NMP version 2.24.7-android64.
No screenshot is needed. Imagine the screen where the Generic Driver\Hi-Res settings are, and the only thing you see is the "Custom Format" option.
I've reset the Audio Hardware section many times and read Dmitry's original post to no avail.
Also this section:
How to check Hi-Res Audio is available
If you wish to to know whether your device has Hi-Res Audio support just access Audio Hardware -> Frequency section. Hi-Res Audio capable devices will have multiple frequencies listed, Bits field will show 24 or 8.24 or 32 in [out: X] placeholder. Additionally you can tap on a panel with Channels, Bits in Audio Hardware and see the current audio output format. If all audio devices indicate 'closed' during playback then it is a sign of Hi-Res Audio as well.
isn't very clear. I've checked the frequency screen on my phone and there are no entries other than "Defaul". However, when I use the "Output To" functionality to send the audio to a google home device, the frequency screen now shows 10 different frequencies, in addition to the Default entry and If I connect my Sony WF-1000XM4 and check frequencies, there are 4 in addition to the Default entry.
In both of these scenarios, looking in the Generic Driver screen still doesn't show any Hi-Res options. Only the "Custom Format" option.
Also, there is no Bits information on that screen.
OT - In the "Profile" section, if you touch the Default or Bit-perfect option, to see the sub-screen options, the "Reset" button doesn't reset anything. It just sends you back to the Profile screen where you would pick a Profile...
Edit - My rooted Samsung Note 9 (SM-N960F/DS) running a custom ROM from 2022 does show the Hi-Res selections...

Then it would seem that Neutron doesn't think your device supports high-res. I suggest you contact
neutronmp@gmail.com for further analysis - either it really doesn't, or Neutron doesn't support the device fully yet.

@royalh, your device (Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6) does not have 3.5mm jack, therefore there is no hi-res capability of the internal DAC. Instead you may have USB headset which is attached to USB-C jack. In this situation you can use Audio Hardware -> Direct USB Access which is Neutron's USB driver which communicates with USB DAC (USB Headset) directly and gives access to hi-res functionality of it.
Bluetooth audio devices are usually exposed by the OS with all supported frequencies, if BT device supports them and OS support BT hi-res too, and Neutron will use that information to provide hi-res output to BT (so it is OS dependent feature).

Got it! Thanks Dmitry!
