Chinese characters showing up in tag

Post by Rod2 » Fri Dec 06, 2019 5:09 pm

I've ripped a CD, a compilation of Classical music, into mp3.

Neutron is displaying Chinese characters instead of the track name.

I can see the Chinese characters in the tag if I open the mp3 file in Windows Explorer.

Than I can change the chinese to english, but if reloaded back onto my tablet and played in Neutron, the chinese characters show up again!

Like I never changed the tag at all.

Any fix for this? Can I edit the tag in neutron itself?

No, you cannot edit the tags in Neutron. Tags aren't precisely defined, there are a lot of differnt types of tags, for examples see http://id3.org/History , and even multiple types of tags specifying the same contents are possible. I guess that in your case the track name is available at least twice, and windows reads the one tag type and neutron the other.
