Re: Is it possible to have more than 4-bands parametric EQ? (iOS)
I've just tried using Direct USB Access to the Hidizs S9 Pro DAP OTG. Amazingly, it can reach 768000 frequency output, however, I found some distortion on some songs. What are the best settings for using Direct USB Access?
Turn on/off the Digital on the Direct USB Access page?
Turn on/off generic driver?
Turn on/off follow source frequency?
Is the latency 108(min:16) Correct? See attached Screen.
What other settings I need to adjust to achieve the best results?
Thanks.

You might have to check where the distortion comes from and make sure its reason isn't CPU overload of the smartphone/tablet due to the high sampling rate, in which case a reduction would be advisable.john chung wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 1:19 pmI've just tried using Direct USB Access to the Hidizs S9 Pro DAP OTG. Did you mean the frequency? If it was, then I've tried to lowered back to 384000, but the DAP changed to red colour from White, meaning the DAP output is only taking the max 384000 sample. When set to default frequency, the DAP turned green. Whatever frequency I choose, and even turned down the preamp and the device volume, the distortion still appeared.
So I guess it must be something else.

I suggest you ask neutronmp@gmail.com whether the Hidizs S9 Pro is fully supported by Neutron.

Yes, of course. That was to be expected, wasn't it ?john chung wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 3:35 pmI've tried to lowered back to 384000, but the DAP changed to red colour from White, meaning the DAP output is only taking the max 384000 sample.

Last night after I disabled the Direct USB Access, I found the songs were still distorted. So I switched off the device. This morning when I started the device I turned on the Direct USB Access again and this time it worked fine. No more distortion even when I put the volume on full blast, apart from a few old songs still glitching occasionally. I guess those songs had poor sources.
So I must have messed the settings too much to upset the player functioning properly.
Next try will be the DSD function.

Does normalisation affect the song quality? Thanks.

For a single song it only changes its volume. But under certain circumstances, if you regard more than one song, that will affect the set of songs. Because the relative volume of the tracks changes, which e.g. in the case of classical music is most undesirable. Also gapless playing across tracks will be affected if consecutive tracks are changed differently.

Thanks. Also, I've tried to add a 10-band frequency parametric for my bose qc 45, they all got Q settings. But the EQ presets on neutron got some BWs. Can they be changed to Qs. And what is the conversion from Q to BW?
