limit on sampling rate for Bluetooth

Post by Farshad » Fri Feb 12, 2021 9:24 pm

After recent update we are limited to Bt 24 bit 96khz sampling rate . Why ?
I was. Able to get 32bit 192khz sampling over generic driver with haylou t15 and sounded really good why. Are we going backward ? At least leave us an option to unlimit with our risk of anything ?

That's been done on purpose :

The reason is that BT Codecs cannot fully process high-res-audio. And yes, there are market players that promise high-res-audio with BT, e.g. Sony with its LDAC codec. But even if these codes have advantages over the BT standard codec SBC that's IMHO rather Sound Improvement than High Fidelity, so one should take all that with a grain of salt. So this applies to what device ? And only to output via speakers ? Did you activate high-res for speakers ?

Cannot fully process and is right but it sounded better why not letting us have it back ? At least let it be with custom format ?

Neutron's primary aim is not to provide fancy sound effects but to deliver the music as exact as possible from source to sink. Any effects on the way should be known as to what they do and how they do it. Effects that occur without having been intended and where the way they work aren't clear are avoided. A custom format would make sense if there were any bluetooth devices that would accept higher resolutions, but there are none.

I use this player on the Samsung Galaxy A20 and as I said, this error was seen in version 2.16.all of the samsung galaxy A series has samsung UHQA PCM on the device's board.prior to the latest update, outputation via bluetooth was 32 bit at 768khz.maximum outputation via device's speaker was 16 bit at 48 khz.Lack of high-bit output through the speaker is a constant problem in all versions of this player, but this problem also affected Bluetooth in version 2.16.now , maximum outputation via bluetooth in version 2.16 is 24 bit at 96khz(maximum outputation via bluetooth in version 2.15.5 was 32 bit at 768khz).

As to the speakers: did you activate high-res for the speakers in Settings > Audio Hardware > Generic Driver > Hi-Res Speaker ?
