DSD files not added from DLNA server

Post by Majchel » Thu Nov 18, 2021 1:13 am

Hello,

I have DSD files on DLNA server, hosted on Windows and I want to use Neutron as a control for playing DSD on my UPnP streamer.
But I can't add any DSD file to my library in Neutron app. App just didn't see any DSD files, but they are there...

It is disabled on the Eval version or where can be a problem? I planning to buy this app when all will work for me.

Thank you.

Eval or not shouldn't matter. DSD generally is supported.
  • Do other file types work better ?
  • Did you add a network source in Neutron with the location of the DSD files ?
  • Do you want to stream from the network, or to the network, or both ?

Yes, then that seems to be a problem with DSD support of the player (Neutron).

I have files, UPnP renderer, and application (player Neutron) in the same network. I put other files in the same folder with DSD files.
Others, like FLAC files, I can see and successfully play, but DSD files are not listed there. I cant see them.

As I said, it is standard DSD, (.dff and .dsf). It should be supported by the Neutron documentation.

Neutron supports DSD, e.g. this here :

OK then, why can't play them or see them listed?
I have there DSD 64/128/256 .. no one is listed. Only FLAC.

No idea . Feel free to send an example file to neutronmp@gmail.com, perhaps there's something wrong with the file and they can analyze this.

It's standard DSD from different sources.

One of those sources is the free test DSD from 2l, linked below.
http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html?

or this DSD 128, for test
https://www.nativedsd.com/product/ndsd0 ... =dsd-128fs

All official files, what can be played normally via foobar to my DAC. But Neutron can't recognize them.

I will try to reinstall, or try another phone... but if it didn't help I need to find something else.

You have made sure that the SERVER actually serves these DSD files ?
