release 2.18.5-4: native DSD support for FiiO M11+, etc
release 2.18.5-4: native DSD support for FiiO M11+, etc
Thank you very much for your efforts to enable in the release 2.18.5-4 1 native DSD support for FiiO M11+, M17 and newer DAPs.
As a user of FiiO M11+ I can confirm the DSD format audio (even in wavpack envelope) now works, but
there is still a problem in switching between DSD to PCM formats.
Namely when the button "DSD, DSD over PCM (DoP)" is switched on and you want to switch your audio from DSD to PCM the PCM file will be played but audio will be muted. After switching off the "DSD, DSD over PCM (DoP)" button, the PCM audio will be unmuted. And ofcource when the "DSD, DSD over PCM (DoP)" button is off, the player must and does not play native DSD audio before the "DSD, DSD over PCM (DoP)" button is switched on again.
It would be much more natural (and in accordance with good practice) when Neutron will automatically switch between those two different formats in case the "DSD, DSD over PCM (DoP)" is switched on.

Re: release 2.18.5-4: native DSD support for FiiO M11+, etc
Just noticed yesterday that DSD files are now playing properly on my FiiO M11LTD, however I have also noticed that there is a brief loud popping sound which occurs between tracks. I have observed this issue on several of my albums which are in DSD format.
Loud popping sound between DSD (.dff) files in iOS
Hello.
I am running Neutron Music Player 2.19.5 on iOS 15.4.1, on an iPhone 11 Pro Max. The output is an iFi iDSD Diablo, using the Camera Connector Kit. I am trying to run in bit-prefect mode, with the Audio Hardware settings all turned off except for "Follow Source Frequency" and "DSD, DSD over PCM (DOP)".
Whenever I play a DSD album (all files in dff format), I head loud pops between tracks. I know that DSD files are being played since this is what Neutron Music Player is outputting, and what the Diablo is receiving (input light has the right color). If I turn off "DSD, DSD over PCM (DOP)", the DSD files are converted to 24/88.1kHz. When played back, I hear a soft click between tracks.
Is there a way to avoid those pops and clicks when playing DSD files?
Thanks,
Renaud

DSD64 scatches
Hi to everyone,
I write to describe a strange scratch I hear when the track changes during a DSD64 album listening. No scratches if you tap the next track during a listening or rewind to the beginning. I tried with the iso of the same album and it's smooth. A problem of iso splitting (with SACD Extract)? I analized the splitted tracks with Tascam Hires Editor and I can't see or hear strange things. I also have a track that's make me crazy. A lot of skipping at the beginning and absolutely nothing when checked with Tascam Hires Editor. Could you check with your setup if everything about DSD64 is ok?
Thanks to everyone
My setup:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 dsd native connected via usb to a Gustard X16 dac

Re: release 2.18.5-4: native DSD support for FiiO M11+, etc
Supposed to be solved in version 2.20 :
* New:
- PM - Sequential - Rewind Tracklist: to rewind tracklist to the beginning when reached its end
! Fixed:
- fixed Bluetooth device frequencies not listed
- noise when switching gapless DSD tracks
- UPnP: incompatibility with devices using [Range: bytes=0-] header in request
- playing Ogg/Opus files from SAF source
- missing support for DPAD CENTER button (as Enter)
- could not clear Chromecast devices from Output To list
- USB Driver: use volume resolution reported by device
