As I mentioned in another thread, I have transferred over 97,000 sings to my phone and enjoy playing them on neutron now. But I've noticed something strange.
Any file that is tagged with an artist name that starts with a number, the first character of the artist name is cut off.
So, "5 Royales" is " Royales", "10,000 Maniacs" is "0,000 Maniacs", and "3 Doors Down" is " Doors Down".
Neutron only does this to the artist field, not to the album artist field. Has anyone seen this before, and is there a solution?
Glitch with files where artist starts with a number?

Re: Glitch with files where artist starts with a number?
Are any settings for neutron to "guess metadata" enabled? (I have this disabled)
I've got an older device (FiiO X5iii running android 5.1.1) with a 1TB card in place, and artists like 65daysofstatic or 1788-L are not truncated.
Has the metadata or filename (inspected from within Neutron or separate file manager) been altered in any way?

Good question. I did have that option checked for some reason, but it didn't change anything when I unchecked it.WitzyZed wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 1:19 amAre any settings for neutron to "guess metadata" enabled? (I have this disabled)

I should clarify. In the usual menus (songs, albums, etc), the artists display correctly with the metadata that I've painstakingly maintained, but I added every single song to a playlist, and within that playlist, is where the first character is missing from every artist.
I also just noticed it's not just the first character. 54 40 is now just 40, for example.

Are the characters only missing in the display ? Might be Settings > Media Library > Ignore Name Prefix :

That's right, they're only missing in the display, when viewing the playlist or if they are in the now playing screen. It's not a big deal but I think it's a glitch since they display correctly outside of the playlist.

Yes, everything should be displayed. I suggest you document this and send it to neutronmp@gmail.com .
