How to know about the details of Neutron Music Player's audio processing path?
Re: Audio Processing
Could you elaborate on your question ? What exactly would you want to know ? What level of detail do you think you need ?
Re: Audio Processing
I'm looking for how Neutron is processing the audio... How it's bypassing the Android audio mixer/ stack. I mean processing stage/ stack, resampling, bit, rate, etc. It could be look like the Poweramp "Audio Info" ... Please help.
Re: Audio Processing
The is no special audio info display. Most information is available on "Settings > Audio Hardware"
Re: Audio Processing
... but there's a proposal to add such a feature :

Problem: the information regarding the input is incorrect, 16-bit-mp3 is displayed as 32- or 64-bit, and there's no information as to whether the os is likely to resample before the DAC (e.g. if you choose an unsupported sample rate in custom format)
Consequence: some confusion on user side
Proposal: add a user-friendly graphical overview about the chain of audio processing from the input file to the DAC
Example: see Does neutron actually go around android system, or is the output resampled to android supported frequency?
Re: Audio Processing
I couldn't understand the "Audio Hardware" information parameters... Could you please explain the CPU, VEC, DRV? The frequency which is showing in the "Audio Hardware" section is it the frequency of phone/ pc OR a connected device's (Bluetooth speaker) frequency? Which parameter representing what?

This is exactly what I'm looking for...blaubär wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 8:45 am... but there's a proposal to add such a feature :

Re: Audio Processing
"CPU" - type of CPU
"VEC" - seems to refer to part of the processor or graphics that deals with matrix and vector calculation
"DRV" - the audio devive and driver
"Frequency" - the sampling rate that Neutron uses for DSP and output to DAC
