Hi.
I'm using a profile that is a derivative of "bit-perfect" (made with "Duplicate" option) with FRC enabled (calibration for 7Hz Timeless by oratory1990).
The FRC profile is as follows:
Preamp: -10 dB
1. Peaking Fc 14 Hz Gain -7.6 dB Q 0.4
2. Peaking Fc 70 Hz Gain -9 dB Q 0.35
3. Low-Shelf Fc 110 Hz Gain 10 dB Q 0.71
4. Peaking Fc 830 Hz Gain 0.5 dB Q 2
5. Peaking Fc 1450 Hz Gain -1.8 dB Q 1.4
6. Peaking Fc 2100 Hz Gain -3.2 dB Q 2.1
7. High-Shelf Fc 2500 Hz Gain 3.5 dB Q 0.7
8. Peaking Fc 2600 Hz Gain -1.3 dB Q 5
9. High-Shelf Fc 8000 Hz Gain -5 dB Q 0.71
The issue: when using this profile in Neutron's FRC, the resulting bass is virtually non-existent, which doesn't happen in EqAPO or PowerampEQ (Cascade Mode) with same parameters on the same hardware (tested on iBasso DX160 and Samsung Galaxy S7/Note9)
FRC's strange behavior
Re: FRC's strange behavior
Well, you reduce the bass, so it is less. ( what profile you use doesn't matter )
Do you perhaps use the EQ as well ?

Re: FRC's strange behavior
In Neutron I use FRC only.
Maybe I didn't described it correctly enough, but the issue is that when using these parameters in Neutron's FRC I get a completely different sound compared to using these same parameters in PowerampEQ or EqualizerAPO (the last two, at least "by ear", sound the same as long as the parameters are same too).
The difference is: virtually no bass (everything <110Hz). I'll repeat - this issue does not happen in PowerampEQ nor EqualizerAPO while using these exact same parameters.

Re: FRC's strange behavior
Are you sure that no other sound effects, e.g. from the operating system, are active ? Which might perhaps work differently with audio data coming from different apps. For example on my Samsung S9 when I activate or deactivate "Audio Hardware > DSP Effect (Device)" the Samsung audio effects will be disabled or enabled, and PowerAmp works differently with regard to these effects.
Re: FRC's strange behavior
I suggest you check with a simple frc preset: e.g. one that does nothing - still different sound from Neutron ?

Re: FRC's strange behavior
iBasso DX160 does not have any OS effects.
All sound effects on both S7 and Note9 are disabled manually.
I created a flat FRC preset by choosing "EQ Presets (Default)" -> "4-Band Parametric (Default)". The sound on all 3 devices with this profile is the same as when the FRC is completely off.
