Since the last version update, there are 2 oversampling settings in Audio Hardware menu now:
①one is below the DSD settings,
②the other "Oversampling 8×" is in the DSD submenu.
My question is will it conflict if both turn on at the same time?
For example,I set Oversampling 2× in settings① and turn on Oversampling 8× in settings②,
Is the final output resampled at 16× in PCM rendering stage?
How to select the correct PCM TO DSD oversampling settings?
Re: How to select the correct PCM TO DSD oversampling settings?
Generally Neutron transforms audio data in PCM and then works on these PCM data. The general oversampling option refers to this, as do the Frequency and Follow Source Frequency Options.sunsokids wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:06 amSince the last version update, there are 2 oversampling settings in Audio Hardware menu now:

I cannot try this out, because my hardware doesn't support DSD, but I would expect these general options not to apply (at all) if you enable the PCM-To-DSD conversion.
I suggest you try it out, the output information at the bottom of the playing now screen should show which sampling rate Neutron finally delivers to the DAC.

Thanks,But if I turn on PCM TO DSD,the sampling rate information below is only about DSD,and I have no way of knowing the resolution of the current PCM rendering stage.

Re: How to select the correct PCM TO DSD oversampling settings?
I would expect Neutron to show the final sampling rate that it provides to the DAC. If you activate oversampling, and it doesn't show up here, then that would mean that it doesn't take place. When in doubt feel free to contact neutronmp@gmail.com.
Re: How to select the correct PCM TO DSD oversampling settings?
Might be better with version 2.22.1, please try.
