Neutron reads music files on SD card but does not load them

Post by CarlFredricksen » Sat Jul 27, 2024 7:23 am

Neutron reads the music files on an SD card on a new cell phone, but does not load them.
As always, I went to "Sources" and pressed +, then chose File system – SD card and then the corresponding folders on the card.
NMP runs a search through the folders (you can see it in the file names under the number of files read), but the number under "processed" remains at 0.
I have always proceeded in this way and it has always worked.
Now I have to take a detour: under File system I have to go to + and then select the folders in File Explorer.

Why does the original way no longer work? Does anyone have an idea?

Probably because you now are using an Android Version > 10 and the Neutron app from the Google play store ... in that case you have to create a SAF source, as it seems you did in the end.

Before I was using Android 12. But I think you are right, because this NMP version was automatically loaded while setting up the phone – probably from the play store. I hadn't thought of that.
I will install the version from the NMP homepage right away.
Thanks for your help.

It worked and the scanning was almost twice as fast.
Many thanks again.
