"Output to" connects but does not play

I have a portable speaker and Chromecast Audio. I can set output to either of these and I get the connection beep. However when I play, it plays on my phone. The output icon is always red. What might I be doing wrong?

Did that ever work ? Which version do you use ? Chromecast is supported. Recently there have been changes to the network interface. I suggest you update to 2.24.3 and retry, again there are improvements.
