My Ovidius B1 DAC have some quirk with Neutron android version.
Whenever it's connected exclusively to neutron (bypass mode), it has very little usable volume range. Volume level 1 has already loud, a bit too much for most of my IEM collection. When I avoid bypass mode by clicking "android back button" I gain access to normal volume level, courtesy of android mixer.
I believe it's because this DAC don't use any USB audio streaming controller like savitech SA9xxx series, it will resample any audio stream to 16bit / 96kHz regardless original file bit depth and sampling rate.
And the latest Neutron 2.24.3 has a bug I didn't experienced in other version, whenever I plugged the DAC in it will blast the headphones connected with maximum volume, even worse the volume won't be even work in thia condition.
I was able to rectify this bug by changing the "profile" temporarily to bitperfect and the change back to default profile.
Hopefully developer will patch this bug soon and implement workaround for the limited volume range
Problem with Ovidius B1 DAC
Re: Problem with Ovidius B1 DAC
I suggest you try the upper volume limit ( lower slider , see screenshot )
Re: Problem with Ovidius B1 DAC
And try the linear scale
Re: Problem with Ovidius B1 DAC
Tried setting VOLUME LIMIT, RATIO (second one) to 0.07 and the volume control granularity change, volume 0-7 will give no sound, volume 8 will give me the same loudness as vol 1 before changing this value
