How do I access songs on my home network (hard disk) with NMP on my cell phone?

I have a hard disk connected to my router on the network at home, which also contains all my song files.
Are there any instructions on how I can access them with NMP, which is installed on my cell phone? I tried a bit but couldn't get it to work.
I would be very grateful for an advice.

which method are you trying to use? (webdav, ftp, sftp...)

is it just an external hard disk connected to the router or are you using a NAS, spare computer?

if you want external network access, you will need to open a port on your router.

It is an external hard disk that is connected to the router. But it is set up as a NAS.
