Is Neutron using OMX hardware decoding?

I am using a Volvo Sensus Connected Touch unit that is based on Parrot Asteroid Smart. It runs Andoird 2.3.7. The stock music player performs fine, but Neutron stutters when not in the foreground. This makes me wonder, does Neutron support hardware decoding? For example OMX.google.mp3.decoder from OMXCodec ?
