Hmmm…. I managed to get it show 192kHz on mojo a couple of times, by accident, alternating between songs of different resolutions or something but can’t find a pattern yet. There is some glitch somewhere, not sure if with the player or iOS. Onkyo consistently triggers 192kHz but not Neutron.

There are options to set Neutron to “Follow Source Frequency” and also to resample to specific rates. Make sure to set it to follow if you want it to match what the file native rates.

It might help if you could provide screenshots showing your "Settings > Audio Hardware" screen.

I’m trying to attach screenshots but I get error the files are too large (around 700kb each), any suggestions? I tried editing/cropping but that didn’t help…

Yes, they are set. As I stated, I have the same settings on multiple devices, iOS and Android. One interesting thing see is in the Audio Hardware section all these devices show 44000 or 48000 on iPhone but on Android they show the higher bitrates for the same files being played. This would make sense on iOS if the statement that iOS is limited to 48kHz was true. But since other music apps (Apple Music, Onkyo HF…) can play at full resolution on the same devices with the same DACs, cables… I can only suspect they are capable of bypassing some standard iOS usb audio drivers that Neutron is not….

I just managed to get Neutron on iPhone play at full res, beyond 48kHz again. Using the exact same settings as before. I was alternating between Neutron and Onkyo and at some point I tried playing a dsd file on Neutron and that triggered something on the phone or Neutron as mojo was showing it coming through as dsd (2.8MHz and not 48kHz). Changing between songs of different formats, 96kHz, 192kHz, 48kHz and back to 192kHz… all worked perfect while the phone/Neutron was in that state… The audio hardware menu also showed the correct frequencies. Unfortunately after reconnecting the DAC everything went back to 48KHz for all files including the dsd.

At least this proves the settings in Neutron are correct and that indeed Neutron on iPhone can play at full frequencies if the root cause of this issue is found and addressed…

A lot of picture editors sport options to reduce the pixel size of images, e.g. Samsung gallery

Thanks, I ended up copying the photos to a pc and resizing them with Paint.

Here are my Neutron settings, mind you since I was able to get it play at full res once as stated above, I am confident the settings are good... As you can see mojo is listed here at 44kHz even though I was playing a file at a higher res...

Just for the record, I don not have mojo set as "headphones" on iPhone, it's set as "other devices". It was still showing as Headphones when I was able to play at full res... Not that it makes a difference in terms of output, but on iPad Pro it shows DRV:USB for it.

Here are the devices connected with mojo correctly showing 192 kHz when I got it to work.
