Displaying all songs by an artist

Is there any way to list all songs by an artist, including songs included on non artist albums. Eg. I have 7 albums by an artist and a number of non Album tracks by the same artist which appear on various artists albums. It seems the list by artists lists by the "Album Artist" tag rather than by "Track Artist", hence not including these additional tracks. It seems sensible that listing by artist should include all tracks by that artist whatever the source. I've looked through settings but can't find an option to do this, although I could have missed it. Many Thanks.
