Any update to this for 2023?

I did manage to briefly see a 32GB MicroSD card and was able to play music from it. But I have upgraded to a 256GB card and now I am not able to remember how I was able to get the 32GB card into the library?

Any help much appreciated.

Ok. I think I have figured this out.

In "Library Sources" dialog you have to click on the "+" at the bottom. That will take you to the built in IOS "File Manager" where you can navigate to the external drive, Go to the folder you would like to add and then allow for permissions. Then allow drive to be scanned (Currently doing now) and done (I hope. Still scanning about 4000 songs at the moment lol).

Hi Guys, Unfortunately, iOS devices do not support direct playback from USB flash drives. However, you can transfer the files from the USB to your iOS device using a Lightning to USB adapter or by syncing with a computer, then play them through compatible apps or the built-in media player.vanced

I have over 8,000 songs on an external 1TB MicroSDX drive plugged into a 3rd party adapter with Power and separate USB (For MY USB Hidizs S9 Pro DAC). It can be difficult to get the volume fluctuations under control but other than that they play just fine. It can lose the connection sometimes but I think that is more down to the 3rd party adapter. Unfortunately as far as I can tell Apple themselves do not make a Lightning to USB / MicroSD with Power option.

Many of those songs are high quality .dsf (DSD64 / DSD128), and 24Bit / 48/96/192kHz FLAC files.
