From a certain number of artists/folders/albums on a music collection on it takes a bit of time to navigate it. A lot of users will have some artists/folders/albums that they listen to more often than to others. It might come in handy if one could somehow classify certain artists/folders/albums as somehow special and then impose a filter on the list of artists/folders/albums so that only those classified thus are shown. For songs we have the ratings which we can use for this purpose.
Proposal : add the possibility to classify and filter artists/folders/albums
filter or ratings for artists/folders/albums
Re: filter or ratings for artists/folders/albums
Would this be a new category, unique like Playlist, Queue, Artists, Albums, Songs, Years, etc.? Or one that would reduce the number of items listed in Artists and Albums category?
Once you are in any of those categories, the three dots appear on bottom left allowing you to jump to another category. Is it possible to have in the bottom middle next to search icon, or bottom right perhaps, an icon/button to invoke the Special Filter for that Category?
I agree that while one could make a playlist of their oft-heard music, it is at the level of songs and not easy to separate out songs from other artists/albums.

Re: filter or ratings for artists/folders/albums
The idea is to be able to temporarily exclude artists/folders/albums from being shown without having to remove them from the library. Yes, one could implement that perhaps as a special filter. Or as a new category "artist rating".
