Remote control?
Remote control?
"Simply", do you think to a remote control app? Maybe for android also...
Re: Remote control?
Yes, such as Audirvana remote app.
A typical scenario: you have a neutron desktop instance (i.e. On Windows) and you can control this instance via a mobile app in the same wireless network. Remote app can control a sub-set of neutron desktop instance options: is sufficient to show the music album/artist list/tile (with the current play info) and leave all configurations capabilities to the desktop side.

Re: Remote control?
Ok, understood. Neutron cannot be controlled remotely. On Android you can use a local widget, and you can use Neutron on the smartphone, stream the input from a server and stream the output to a remote DAC, though.
Re: Remote control?
Yes I know right now is impossible to control neutron in this way. I thinking if this is a feature that you can consider for future implementation. I think neutron is a very special player (a lot better than many others commercial and over-publicised main stream players). This feature is useful to use neutron in hifi desktop setup when you need a reliable and handy control for the main player, maybe at 4 or 5 meters of distance.
Re: Remote control?
Oookay, then we'll put that into the forum for future development ... you propose to make neutron a controller that can control another Neutron instance that acts as a renderer
Re: Remote control?
I am also looking for this too - very much!
I've been using Foobar2000 on my desktop, as a music server for my HiFi, but controlled with the MonkeyMote app - works really well and it doesn't drain the resources of my phone because the desktop is doing all of the work.
However, I would really like to use Neutron player as the desktop server/renderer for the same purpose, but at the moment there is no remote function. My desktop is upstairs and holds my music library, and my HiFi is downstairs, where I want to be able to control the music it receives.
A remote app for Android would be perfect - please

Re: Remote control?
Okay, got it. But of course a modern smartphone has no problems at all with getting data from a media server, rendering the music and streaming it to the HiFi. So the effect that you want - controlling and rendering the music from your PC and hearing it on the HiFi - should easily be possible using your smartphone as music player = renderer + controller.
