Neutron Player currently offers two resampling options to choose: Quality and Audiophile. It would be nice to be able to choose other algorithms such as zero-order hold to simulate NOS dac response.
I would appreciate if you add zero-order hold and even other options to Neutron Player.
Zero-Order Hold Resampling
Re: Zero-Order Hold Resampling
With "NOS dac" you mean Non-Oversampling DAC ?
As to zero-order hold, perhaps one of the two "audiophile" and "quality" already is this ... if only we knew .

Yes Non-Oversampling DAC or to better say it, non-oversampling filterless DAC.blaubär wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 10:04 amWith "NOS dac" you mean Non-Oversampling DAC ?

I tested both Quality and Audiophile resampling with 44.1Khz white noise and they both attenuate the signal after 22.05khz as they should so no imaging artifacts is created.
Zero-order Hold basically doesn't filter anything at all so we get tons of imaging artifacts. However, the impulse signal is perfect; no pre-ringing nor post-ringing.
Zero-order Hold is the simplest resampling algorithm so there's no CPU problem. If Neutron developers add this feature it would be great.
