Hello Neutron
So recently, I try the airpods pro 2, which got certain level of loudness compensation, which works interesting and makes sense to me why some hi-end dac got it.
I know the loudness compensation function in app based on system volume may not function well, it may need to be adjusted by individual to individual, but it is something exciting to me, and there is not an app that can do it.

Chance to get loudness compensation?
Re: Chance to get loudness compensation?
What would you expect a loudness correction to do ? Offset the loudness-frequency-dependency of human hearing ?JoonSumisu wrote: ↑Sun Dec 25, 2022 4:16 pmSo recently, I try the airpods pro 2, which got certain level of loudness compensation, which works interesting and makes sense to me why some hi-end dac got it.

The problem with these "loudness-corrections" ( if it's that what I think you want ) is that it is not clear ( from the prespective of the music player app ) what signal level will result in what final loudness for the listener's ears, so a simple on/off-switch wouldn' suffice, but one would have to add some calibration.
Re: Chance to get loudness compensation?
How could this be implemented ? Perhaps by adding yet another equalizer ( beside EQ and FRC ) with say a dozen presets that represent the loudness-intensity-curve at different levels. And then perhaps a coupling of the hardware gain to these presets, which would yet have to be calibrated as to its minimum and maximum values ... or one presest which strength would be regulated ... something like this. A preset "loudness" already exists :

Thank a lot blaubär,
Yeah..... I did some research, now the apple's loudness-corrections is something very general and tied with the hardware, means the software knowing how loud the hardware make.
for personal loudness-corrections, it requires a very very complex testing, even with the general loudness-corrections, I still need to test how loud my headphone make in different system volume.

Re: Chance to get loudness compensation?
Well, if you play the music in roughly the volume that it is intended to be heard with then you don't need the correction.
