Volume buttons steps

The Volume steps using the volume rocker on android doesn't have enough steps. It is possible to add this feature even while using a dac.(Uapp does this 250 steps the max). Poweramp (100 steps max) has it implemented with or without the dac. I think both implement this somehow using the casting volume feature.
