Well, it might take a day or two.
Btw ever tried to tell Neutron to store the recordings at a location that you CAN access ?

Well, it shows as stored in the "Recordings" folder.
Unfortuantly the Recordings folder is empty, but I cant tell if this is a limitation of the trial version or not.

I doubt that this is due to the trial version.
"Recordings" seems to be the default
source. And that perhaps cannot be reached due to
SAF.

You might try creating another source where you can access. On Android 10 I cann access the "Recordings" directly :

Thanks for the suggestion. I made a new folder, added it as a new source with the big plus at the bottom, selected it for active, then made a new recording. It was in the new folder, and I could access it just like any other file. Success!
Remember I also have previously rolled back the neutron version per the tacked instructions.
Now how to get my old recordings into the new folder?!
If i click and hold over the recording, one of the options is Share. I have installed a program called X-plore (not sure if legit, read about it on a samsung site or something) that comes up as an option for copy for the Share function. The old files show as copied, but they then are not visible. If I do the same thing with a new recording out of the new folder, it IS visible.
So it has to be "scoped file access".
I am good going forward, but cant get the old recordings 'out' of neutron. I am actually considering playing them out of neutron into another recorder, but that would defeat making he flac file in the first place.

I'm afraid you won't, unless you root the device.

I created a proposal to solves this deficiency :

Situation: with
SAF the default location for the recorder's audio files is inaccessible for retrieval
Problem: users are confounded, see
here
Proposal: let the recorder warn the unsuspecting user ( on Android 11 onwards and with the non-generic apk ) that unless he creates a new source for his recorded audio he won't be able to access it other than by playing it with the recorder

Can the developer make the share to other apps work? I tried to send the file as attachment but it can't be done.

Could you elaborate what goes wrong ?

When you long press a Recording file and select Share icon, if you select gmail app to email the file, the gmail app opens and says "permission denied for the attachment".
