instability off neutron usb-c usb-c cable with iPhone 15 [SPECIAL CASE]
Hi.
I have an iPhone 15 pro with neutron Dac v1 and have been experiencing music failures -- just cuts out and stops -- with the neutron special usbc to usbc cable -- haven't tried with other cables
but after some testing it seems like the connection between the neutron dac v1 and its cable are rock solid -- but the cable and the iPhone cuts the connection with the slightest movement
so this is either a call for help -- what can I do to solve this constant problem when mobile walking etc --
or suggestion for revision of probably ground connectors of cable

Re: instability off neutron usb-c usb-c cable with iPhone 15
well to follow up on this i started using the usb c cable that was included with my iphone 15 pro max and have zero instability issues
i can wiggle the cable connected at the phone or dac side and it doesn’t crash
but with the neutron offical cable the sligtest movement on the phone side makes the dac reset — basically makes it barely usable for walking moving portable use
very frustrating because the neutron cable was a waste and the iphone cable is a meter long — but at least its not resetting the dac once every five minutes because something barely bumped the cable while in my bag or pocket
hopefully whatever the tolerance issue is with the neutron usb c to usb c will be fixed

Hi mamba_lancers!
Noticed your post about Neutron cable only now.
USB-C in general is quite tricky because connection depends on how tight connector is, the cleanness of the port itself. See Reddit thread with bunch people having a lot of problems with loose connection: https://www.reddit.com/r/nexus5x/commen ... very_loose
Maybe in your case the USB-C port of your iPhone became somehow too loose - because as you mentioned, inside DAC V1 cable sits well and connection is stable on that end. It can be one of the issues and maybe explains why cable which sits tightly gives more stable connection. There is a risk with tight connector though that it can make USB-C port is even more loose with time due to excessive wear and tear, thus majority of USB-C cables/connectors are not tight. Another possibility of the issue - oxidized contacts of iPhone's jack which have better contact when tight connector is inserted. So, there are many possible causes.
Neutron cables are using USB-standard connectors, therefore they work just fine with any USB-standard jacks. Additionally, they have gold plating with a goal to add more protection against loose connection due to oxidized contacts.

it turns out even a cabo that starts good eventually starts crashing
i just bought some deoxit contact de oxidizer and will clean the usbc port
i would love it if my perfect neutron cable would just work

UPDATE: I SOLVED THIS neutron dac v1 and neutron cable ios IPHONE CRASHING AND INSTABILITY ISSUE
problem: As above the official neutron usbc to usbc cable started crashing easily upon shifting or moving mechanically at all either side of the cable while playing
Solution was i bought some Caig DeOxit spray (you can get a small one for under ten dollars) sprayed inside each cable termination and inside the phone usbc port
and now it all works like a charm — cable can now take shocks moving bangs etc and doesnt crash the connection

So dirt in your phone connector. Seems strange that this would affect one brand new cable but not another one. But glad you have it sorted out.mamba_lancers wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:10 pmSolution was i bought some Caig DeOxit spray (you can get a small one for under ten dollars) sprayed inside each cable termination and inside the phone usbc port

no it was affecting all cables
i would get a big ugly new one (not like the pretty little portable neutron one lol) and it would be stable for a while
this is for use like sticking phone and dac in pocket and waking
yea probably dust and lots of movements
hopefully this is the long term solution — and i have a whole can of it lol
