Hi. I have not hi res option in generic driver (only custom format option). I use Neutron with dx200. Thanks for your help. Bye

Also with an mp3 track when I view the cover art when its playing it shows 32 bits underneath instead of 16 is that supposed to happen?
I'm also a V20 owner, but I'm currently stuck at 48000 Hz. Could you post what you have done to make it work?

Thanks!

When you unplug your headphones, the phones speaker becomes the output device, so what you observe is the expected behaviour. On some devices, you will find an option called something like "HiRes Speaker" within "Generic Driver", but don't expect any improvements in sound quality from activating it. Its main purpose is saving some (actually very little) battery time by ignoring Neutrons internal high quality resampling and sending the audio straight to Android (which, AFAIK, will resample it using its own more basic routines). On some devices, it will result in silence, though, so it is all trial and error.

When using lossy fomrats like MP3, 32-bit (or 64-bit if you enable the respective option) only refers to the precision of audio processing, not to the properties of the respective file.

I am also using a 5T and cannot find the "Generic driver" option, NMP is a great app but I do feel we need a simple guide to follow to get the most out of it.

On my LG V30, running the latest Neutron 4.5 (but true for prior versions):
From the main window showing what's playing (or just "NEUTRON"), click the gear in the upper right corner
In the Settings window, scroll down to Audio Hardware.
Find Generic Driver about halfway down after CPU Wake Lock and before 32-bit Output (IEEE 754).

On my device I can't enable the hi-res option (Letv x800+). It used to work fine prior to 2.00 update.
I have already posted this in another topic, but I suppose it will be more visible here.
audio_policy.conf.zip
Maybe this file will be useful? (unfortunately, .conf or .txt files are not allowed)
