NMP repeats the last seconds of some songs after they are actually already over
I have a problem that only occurs with some files and only with NMP: When a song is over and the time is actually bought off, the time continues to run for up to 20 seconds and repeats these seconds of the song. Then the next one starts.
Other apps play these songs as normal and end the song where it should.
What could this be? What can you do about it?

Very rarely I experienced something like this with cue files. Is there a file that always does this and which you could provide for testing purposes, e.g. via an accessible link?

What do you mean when you mention "cue files"?
Here's a link to one of the songs

A cue sheet - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_sheet_computing - may explicitly mention (in the index part of the cue sheet) when a referenced track begins within the larger file the cue sheet is for. As you have an individual file, this is probably not relevant.
What is relevant, however, is that you probably need to re-rip this file, see screenshot here:

I can reproduce that. The "Bitstream synchronisation is lost (offset 0xA7B08A)" error might be responsible.

Thanks for checking.
Can you explain what it means that I should rerip the file? Why would that help then? I just want to understand it
Do you have an idea, why nmp has a problem with it, but Poweramp doesn't?

It would seem that you didn't buy the affected mp3-file, but obtained it by converting the contents of an audio-CD. That's called "ripping", and it didn't work well for that song. We suggest you try again, perhaps it will then work better, and not produce an mp3-file which doesn't conform to the mp3-standard.CarlFredricksen wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 3:09 pmCan you explain what it means that I should rerip the file? No, I don't. Feel free to ask neutronmp@gmail.com, they might be able to find out.CarlFredricksen wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 3:09 pmDo you have an idea, why nmp has a problem with it, but Poweramp doesn't?

Thank you. Actually I bought the mp3 file. But I will download them again. Maybe this helps.
And I will ask the support.

This mp3 file has broken bitsream, decoder reports the following:
My strong advise is to redownload, reencode or if it was purchased request seller to provide non-damaged file. Even though other players may skip damaged part differently it does not mean anything.
Code: Select all

Thank you for your answer. I downloaded the affected songs again and now they work - for whatever reason
