Track advances to local files instead of UPnP playlist

Post by julian67 » Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:11 pm

Bug Report:

On the latest Neutron of March 2:

Using with BubbleUPnP on three different devices, all arm64.

I set Neutron as the UPnP renderer in BubbleUPnP. Neutron plays the first track as expected but on track next it goes to local music database and plays a track from there. Other renderers work as expected.

I tried clearing data and starting with a new install and a new NeutronMP directory in ~/storage. Same problem.

I reverted to an older version, Neutron 2.12.2, and this works normally and as expected on all devices.

I never did this myself - how do you set up Neutron as UPnP renderer ? By creating another source of type UPnP/DLNA ?

So you've got mutiple sources ? How do you restrict Neutron to use only the one ? Do you start a track list that contains only tracks from one of them ?

To set NeutronMP as UPnP tenderer you go:
Settings>Network and check box "Media Renderer".

Acting as a media renderer is very different from playing from a source. The issue of "restricting" does not arise. A renderer is literally just a renderer. All control over playlist, source, track order etc is done elsewhere by the UPnP client app.
None of this is relevant to the bug I reported. I am sure the app developer will understand it fully.

Thanks a lot ! So the Neutron app gets its data from a media server and is controlled by a client. And this control fails with the new Neutron version after the first track. I suggest you write to neutronmp@gmail.com to make sure you get to the developer.

I did email Dmitry at neutronmp@gmail.com and he found the fault and it will be fixed in the next version.
